Built in 1925, the bridge spans 155 feet over the Rocky Broad River and is adorned with 30 stunning gardens, all lovingly maintained by volunteers. Captured by JLW_PHOTOGRAPHY, in July 2024, in the final summer before Hurricane Helene swept through, these images preserve the Lake Lure Flowering Bridge in all its beauty. Once a place of colour and quiet joy for visitors and locals alike, it now lives on in memory — a reminder of what was, and of the hope that blooms again.
