Shoen UEMURA was a Japanese painter. His real name was Uemura Tsune and Tsuneko. Born and raised in Shimogyo, Kyoto in the Meiji period, he drew 'bijinga' through the eyes of women. In 1948, she was the first woman to receive the Order of Culture. He was a Japanese painter who had continued for three generations with his son Shoko UEMURA and his grandson Junshi UEMURA.
