First edition of Les Fleurs du mal by Charles Baudelaire. Paris: Poulet-Malassis et de Broise, 1857. Inscribed to Nadar (Félix Tournachon), pioneer photographer, writer, and caricaturist, and one of Baudelaire’s very small inner circle of friends. Binding by Charles Meunier. This is a customised version adapted from a faithful photographic reproduction of an original two-dimensional work of art. I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
