This design features the national flag of Suriname (officially known as the Republic of Suriname), which is a country on the northeastern Atlantic coast of South America. Suriname is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the north, French Guiana to the east, Guyana to the west and Brazil to the south. Suriname is the smallest sovereign state in South America. Most of the country's population live on the north coast, in the region of Suriname's capital and largest city, Paramaribo.
