This design features the national flag of Libya (officially known as the State of Libya), which is a country in the Maghreb region in North Africa. Libya is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the north, Egypt to the east, Sudan to the southeast, Chad to the south, Niger to the southwest, Algeria to the west and Tunisia to the northwest. The sovereign state of Libya is made of three historical regions: Tripolitania, Fezzan and Cyrenaica. The capital of Libya is Tripoli, which is also the country's largest city. Other major cities and towns in Libya include Benghazi, Misrata, Beida, Khoms, Zawiya, Ajdabiya, Sebha, Sirte and Tobruk.
