This design features the city flag of Cambridge, which is a city in Massachusetts, USA. Cambridge is in Middlesex County and, as a major suburb of Boston, is part of the Boston metropolitan area. Cambridge is located directly north of Boston, across the Charles River. The city was named in honour of the University of Cambridge in England. It is a centre of higher education, since Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Lesley University, and Hult International Business School are all located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. A resident of Cambridge is sometimes known as a Cantabrigian. The Latin motto of Cambridge, Massachusetts, is "Literis Antiquis Novis Institutis Decora", which means "Distinguished for its Classical Learning and Modern Institutions". The city flag of Cambridge contains an illustration of Gore Hall, which is a Gothic-Revival-style building that was built to be the central library of Harvard College, the undergraduate college of Harvard University.
