[Kyoka Sumite tsutsusuwari Manji] Yoshida Shoin's Kamon (2013/5/6 Drawing) / Shoin was caught trying to sail secretly when Perry was resailing Shimoda. It is said that he was asked by an American officer about his name, and he disguised himself as Manji URINAKA. This is the popular name of this design, 'Manji in Urinouchi,' which is the crest of Shoin. (Reference: "Kamon Hyakwa (Family Crest)" written by Kiji NIWA / There are various theories about his pseudonym, and there are also Manji KANAUCHI and Manji KUWANOU.
