Firebird - Print or Poster
A young thief, dressed in slashed brown velvet and pearls, reaches towards a fantastic glowing firebird perched on a golden art nouveau stand. In her other hand, the thief holds a muffled cage, ready to pop the bird into (although it'll fold its tail feathers quite a bit.) Behind her, an ornate black screen shows the deep, blue, starry sky and a vista of white buildings and onion domes. A rich maroon velvet drape with a pattern picked out in gold is drawn up to the right. The room is full of rich curios, from the tiger skin draped over the couch she's standing on, to a painted dresser with a golden samovar, to carved wooden tables with marble tops crowded with things from here and there. Hidden under the couch are a couple of mice. There are two other Firebirds in the picture as well; but they're not the kind that have wings. This was used on the cover of Dragon Magazine. The original painting was 17x22 inches.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
