Favelas in Rio de Janeiro Postcard

Favelas are informal urban communities that are an integral, though often misunderstood, part of Rio de Janeiro’s identity and landscape. Despite these challenges, the energy, artistry, and tight-knit spirit of favela residents remain an essential part of Rio’s character and global image.
