Fatata te Miti (By the Sea) by Paul Gauguin, oil on canvas 1892, is a painting of the figures of two women on the beach preparing to dive into the deep blue waters of the sea beneath the large form of a flattened tree trunk, while a man rides a small canoe in the background of the exotic, tropical scene. Painted in strongly outlined, flattened forms in heightened, saturated colours, the picture epitomises the mature Post-Impressionist style of Gauguin that he developed while famously living in Tahiti in the islands of the south Pacific.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
