Fairy Tale Sparkle Dress by Arthur Rackham Poster
This is an Arthur Rackham fairy tale painting created for a book with a collection of stories called "Little Brother and Little Sister and Other Tales". The exact story this was illustrated for is called "The True Sweetheart", a German fairy tale from the Brother's Grimm stories.
She was a foresaken girl who thought her prince would come back to marry her. He forgot about her and was going to marry someone else.
She then was determined to get him back by wearing her dress with the stars that sparkled.
The first two dresses she wore didn't make any impression on him. She put a third dress on, with stars that sparkled, and kissed him. He remembered her instantly... and they lived happily ever after!

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
