F C Frieseke is best known as an American Impressionist who painted pictures of beautiful young women in sunny gardens or intimate interiors. However, his scope was much broader. On the front of this card is one of his many glowing floral oil paintings. Inside are two of his many works based on scenes from his childhood in Florida. The style appears primitive compared to his Impressionist work. On the back is an early watercolor, dated '99 (1899), showing a young peasant woman carrying a milk pail.
