Extermination of Evil Poster
This is a Japanese colour print from the 12th Century. It's titled: Tenkeisei - God of Heavenly Punishment, or: Extermination of Evil. In it we see a scary looking demon god with four arms, fighting, eating, crushing, destroying and doing all sorts of atrocious things to these humans / creatures. Imagine the impact of this print when viewed in the 12th C! (long before TV). This is a relatively colourful print: red, yellow / gold, blue, green, orange and black colours were used. The artist also wrote something in Kanji and Hiragana characters (Japanese writing).

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
