This watch features the mission patch from Apollo 11, the first manned lunar landing flight in July, 1969. The eagle is of course a symbol of the United States and was also the call sign chosen for the lunar module. Clasped in the eagle's talons is an olive branch, a symbol of peace. During the first EVA the astronauts read from a plaque they would leave behind, "We came in peace for all mankind."
