She was an American scientist and advocate for women's rights from Seneca Falls, New York and back in 1856 theorised that changes in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere could affect the Earth's temperature. She is regarded as author of the first paper to link carbon dioxide and global warming in her 1856 work "Circumstances Affecting The Heat Of The Sun's Rays" as published in The American Journal of Science and Arts.
