A playing card is a rectangular piece of paper or plastic, typically measuring around 2.5 by 3.5 inches. It features two sides: one with a unique design and the other with a uniform backing, which is the same for all cards in the deck to maintain anonymity. A standard deck contains 52 cards divided into four suits: hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades. Each suit has 13 cards, including numbers 2 through 10, and face cards—Jack, Queen, King, and Ace. Playing cards are used for a wide variety of games, from strategy-based ones like poker to trick-taking games like bridge.
