(enhanced) The Tuskegee Airmen Poster

From an old, scratched black-and-white photo. We removed the stains and blemishes, and made the dull colours more vibrant. Through the use of a sepia filter and cross-processing, finished with matching border and text caption, we turned the dull worn photo into this great poster. A must have for aviation, World War 2 or Black Americana collectors. Custom editions available. (your own text, logo, custom sizes). Contact us. The Tuskegee Airmen is the popular name of a group of African American pilots who fought in World War II. Formally, they were the 332nd Fighter Group of the Air Corps. The Tuskegee Airmen were the first African American military aviators in the armed forces. During World War II, African Americans in many U.S. states still were subject to Jim Crow laws. The American military was racially segregated, as was much of the federal government. The Tuskegee Airmen were subject to racial discrimination, both within and outside the army. Despite these adversities, they flew with distinction. They were particularly successful in their missions as bomber escorts in Europe. (source: Wikipedia) Original photo courtesy US AIR Force

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning! The print is precise, clear and of an excellent standard. It was cleverly packaged so there wasn’t a blemish or crease. Perfect!
