HMS Endymion was a Royal Navy 40-gun fifth-rate frigate that had a distinguished service history during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Launched in 1797, Endymion participated in various significant naval engagements, notably during the Napoleonic Wars. The ship was involved in several noteable battles, including the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805, where it was part of Admiral Nelson's fleet. During this pivotal engagement, although not heavily engaged, Endymion supported other British ships and played a role in the overall success of the Royal Navy against the combined French and Spanish fleet.
