The Distinctive Unit Insignia (DUI) for the 5th Infantry Division (and its constituent regiments) is a heraldic badge or device worn by soldiers in the U.S. Army to identify a particular unit. It is derived from the unit's coat of arms. The 5th Infantry Division's DUI, often called a unit crest, features a diamond and arrowhead, symbolising the division's piercing of German defences during World War I. The scroll at the base of the crest bears the unit's motto, "We Will".
