The Driftless Area is a land of rugged hills and coulees bordering the Mississippi River in parts of Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. The glaciers that flattened the rest of the Midwest passed around this region, so it retains a timeworn terrain noted for its natural beauty and variety.
This large poster features a topographic relief map of the Driftless Area showing ridges and stream valleys in remarkable detail. The poster also shows an inset map of the region's glacial geology, as well as photographs of the area's natural scenery in all four seasons.

The map was very nicely packaged, sent & arrived in good shape. I was expecting a few more landmarks on the map, but must say, I like the clean, green look of it. Will have it matted before I put it on my wall, so as not to tear.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
