Nature Illustration - Hoefnagel's Mediaeval illumination of a manuscript - a dragonfly, pear, carnation, and insect
Our dragonfly image is based on a dragonfly illustration from the mediaeval manuscript, "Mira calligraphiae monumenta" or "Model book of Calligraphy", this vintage dragonfly and pear image shows a beautifully drawn dragonfly, with its wings fully open, and in the background are a pear, carnation, and a small insect. The dragofly illustration was created by mediaeval nature illustrator Joris Hoefnagel (Flemish and Hungarian, Austria) in the late 1500s.
Hoefnagel's illuminations showing botanical fruit and insects were what Hoefnagel was known for painting. He rendered his botanicals and insects with botanical precision, unlike other nature artists of his day. Our dragonfly and pear illustration looks great on our gifts. The dragonfly and pear are wonderful gifts for someone who loves dragonflies and beautiful art.

I have just received my order and everything lools great until I noticed the wrong month was detailed on the invitations! I took a screenshot of what i had ordered online before purchasing, and the month was the right month, Im just guttered it came out wrong! I dont want to spend another 80 90 bucks on these invitations as I am trying to save what little I have for other things for my big day! 😭😭😭. Everything looks great beside the wrong details 😭
