DOOR - Homage to Duchamp

3D image It's probably the unique Duchamp's artwork that he'd never assumed as an intentional artistic object - in fact, this door was invented only for trivial reasons, Duchamp's studio was too small - and this is why I've always been interested by this piece, even if it is not of course the most important Duchamp's artwork too. However, this "paradoxical door" (opened and closed in a same time) stays emblematic of philosophy where all Duchamp's life seems founded, and it means in everything nuance and irony are a kind of necessity.

This was exactly what was wanted for my piano crazy grandson! He is self taught & is now having lessons by a top teacher and has been asked to play at various venues in the US!
