Dogwood Flower and Cross w/John 3:16 Postcard
It is written that the Dogwood tree was used to make the cross that Jesus was crucified on. Once a straight and tall tree, God declared that the tree would forever after grow bent and twisted so it could never be used for such a thing again. The flowers on the tree represent Jesus being nailed to the cross. The marks on each petal represents the nail wounds on Jesus's hands and feet. The centre of the flower represents the crown of thorns.
