DISASTER Button

The Disaster Logo (For ALL Generations) Throughout every Generation there are many disasters all over the World, man-made, natural and interactive (man and nature, or environmental). As shown the logo’s symbolism is as follows: a. It is enclosed in a circle as a circle represents togetherness, completeness and wholeness; the World of humanity as one. b. The green band (or ‘doughnut’) symbolises Hope. Green is indicative of growth in nature, of health, of recovery. c. A white background is used to emphasize the enclosed symbols. The symbols within the circle represent various disasters: d. Red cyclonic ‘wings’. Hurricanes and typhoons are represented by the meteorological cyclone symbol for a hurricane but with only the outer ‘wings’ being coloured the conventional red. This can also symbolise any other high wind situation such as a tornado, a blizzard or a gale. All the forms of fire disaster (inclusive of heat waves and lightning) can also be represented by the red ‘wings’, but these are now interpreted as flames. Explosions could be categorised here also. e. The chequered inner sphere. Represents the partial geological symbol for earthquakes. It indicates fault lines/plate shifts. The symbol can also connote other earthly ‘shifts/movements’ that cause disasters such as those arising from volcanic eruptions/activity, landslides, mudslides and avalanches. f. The skull The skull, symbolic of death, represents epidemics/disease, famine, drought, warfare, terrorism as well as technological, biological, chemical and radioactive disasters. g. The blue ‘ripples’ Represent water related disasters such as tsunami, storm surge, flood, erosion, and thunderstorm/heavy rainfall. h. The white between the blue ‘ripples’ Represents disasters related to cold waves and heavy snowfall.
