“DIGITAL NATIVES” or Generation Z born between approximately early 1990’s and early 2000’s A “digital native” or Generation Z, is an individual who was born after the widespread adoption of digital technology. The term digital native is a catch-all category for those who have grown up using technology like the Internet, computers and mobile devices. This exposure to technology in their early years is believed to have given digital natives a greater familiarity with and understanding of technology than people who were born before it was widespread. Hence their familiarity with “chips”. CHIP: A small piece of semiconducting material (usually silicon) on which an integrated circuit is embedded. A typical chip can contain millions of electronic components (transistors). Computers consist of many chips placed on electronic boards called printed circuit boards.
