Death and Life by Gustav Klimt Vintage Art Nouveau Decorative Cushion
Death and Life (1908) by Gustav Klimt is a vintage Victorian Era Symbolism fine art painting featuring two separate parts, Life and Death. On the left death is depicted by a classic grim reaper with a grinning skull, covered in a dark robe adorned with a religious cross. On the right is a group of mostly young women lying in a flower bed. There is a muscular man holding one of the women and we see an older woman also lying in the middle of the group.
About the artist:
Gustav Klimt (1862-1918) was an Austrian Symbolist painter and one of the most prominent members of the Vienna Art Nouveau movement.
