De Morgan Hand Painted Blue Antelope Antique Repro Ceramic Tile

De Morgan (1839-1917) was an important Arts & Crafts movement artist and was the head of tile production at William Morris's studio. His work was influenced by Persian and Islamic art and featured stylised flora and fauna from both life and fantasy. This is tile depicts a leaping antelope in shades of blue. Can be used for wall and backsplash tiles, for kitchen, bath, shower, or laundry room. (See our TessieRay media pages for some examples of mixing and matching DeMorgan tiles.) DeMorgan tiles are also popular for fireplace surrounds. (Charles Dobson, aka Lewis Carroll, purchased DeMorgan tiles for that purpose.)
