About This Design

Cyber-Bully Poster

Cyber-Bully Poster

When I originally did the sketch for this, I didn't know what I was drawing. As soon as the doodle was done, I started adding little computer mice and realised, "Hey, this is about cyber-bullying!" In the past, I've been a victim of it. I'm sure countless others in countless ways have suffered from it as well. When I was 16 in 2001, I got my first exposure of it, as both victim... and bully. A massive flame war broke out between me and another user, and we both got personal. I still feel bad about what I did, and I still feel a little hurt by what happened as well. In the early days of the modern-day internet, no one knew how to react to it. In the end, it was said they were just words on the computer by anonymous folks who were just mean, and their words meant nothing. But the hurt, the pain, and all the negative feelings were real and hurt even more than the physical scars of some attacks. This piece is how it felt when I was the victim myself. The person doing it is unknown. They're a heartless beast, fat with their own arrogance, weak themselves but controlling others with their dirty broken hands. The mice represent others ready to pounce.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning! The print is precise, clear and of an excellent standard. It was cleverly packaged so there wasn’t a blemish or crease. Perfect!
