Took this photo of the Devil’s tower will in the Black Hills. There were hundreds of prairie dog colonies surrounding the base. The Devil’s Tower was declared the first United States Monument by Theodore Roosevelt on September 24, 1906. Many Native American tribes had ties to the tower. Such as, the Arapaho, Crow. Cheyenne, Kiowa, Lakota and the Shoshone.
