Crouching Sculpture Poster
This sculpture I made approx. 15+ years ago, and as I recall was directly inspired by a photo I had seen of some ancient tribal artisans' sculpture with similar details. I do not recall any more details as to the origin than that. After aging the sculpture in my garden for a dozen + years, I took a photograph of it, which I then "vectorised" in Adobe Illustrator. This produced an interesting blotchy camouflage-type effect with the colours which I used as a base layer. Finally I overlaid the original raster photograph in Photoshop and made the colours pop with various processes which resulted in this image that you see here.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
