Crab Nebula Clock

The only word for the image on this clock is awesome. This is an image taken by the Hubble Space Telescope launched in 1990. It has beamed hundreds of thousands of images back to Earth. Hubble is a telescope that orbits Earth, it's position above the atmosphere, which distorts and blocks the light that reaches our planet, gives it a view of the universe that far surpasses that of ground-based telescopes. The pictures are out of this world and I am so pleased to be able to share them with you thanks to the NASA Hubble Space Telescope. This image is the Crab Nebula, a six-light-year-wide expanding remnant of a star's supernova explosion. It's not science fiction. It's abstract art from space.
