Cosmic Steampunks Chapter 5, No. 8 Poster

"I occasionally think how quickly our differences worldwide would vanish if we were facing an alien threat from outside this world." -Ronald Regan In the depths of a parallel universe, where devastation and ruin had become their bitter reality, an alien race once thrived. Ages of relentless warfare and unchecked neglect had brought their planet to the edge of annihilation. Yet, amidst the desolation, they clung fiercely to their advanced knowledge, their minds brimming with technological prowess that surpassed imagination. Stripped of industrial machinery and deprived of natural resources, the aliens faced a bleak future. But their resilience knew no bounds. With unwavering determination, they embarked on a desperate mission of salvage, scouring the remnants of spacecraft, vehicles, and structures for any morsel of hope. Piece by jagged piece, they ingeniously resurrected their existence, assembling haphazard creations from the discarded debris. Their rebuilt vessels, both monstrous and minuscule, now served as their lifelines in the vast expanse of the universe. Roaming the cosmos, they sought out new worlds to conquer, to plunder in the relentless pursuit of survival. As they traversed the vastness of space, they haphazardly constructed shelters and grand structures upon small planets or distant moons, a testament to their resilient determination amidst the abyss. Then, the tide of destiny shifted. Against all odds, a wormhole revealed itself, an interdimensional gateway to the unknown. With lustful ambitions, they dared to traverse this enigmatic conduit, their eyes alight with the promise of salvation. And it was there, on the precipice between dimensions, that they stumbled upon a revelation that ignited their very core. Intercepting the ghostly whispers of a distant world, the aliens gleaned fragments of an existence. Earth, a thriving, bountiful realm brimming with life and untold treasures, an oasis amidst the barren universe. Eagerly, their gaze turned towards our precious blue orb, a beacon of desire shining brightly in the cosmos. For they saw in Earth the boundless resources to resurrect their civilisation, to forge anew what they had forsaken. But in their envious gaze, the aliens beheld more than mere material wealth. To them, every living being that inhabited Earth, every pulsating heartbeat, was but a potential source of sustenance. In their eyes, humans were mere morsels, ripe for the taking. As their armada, cobbled together from the chaos of the cosmos, hurtled relentlessly towards our pale blue dot, the cosmos bore witness to a terrifying dance of conquest and consumption. Horrified astronomers, their eyes affixed to space-bound telescopes, beheld a terrifying sight. Thousands upon thousands of grotesque, piecemeal space vehicles emerged from the inky void, a twisted amalgamation of alien ingenuity and cosmic debris. The hulls creaked, gears groaned, and steam billowed, testament to the chaotic harmony of this macabre fleet. Earth trembled beneath the shadow of their impending arrival, for these invaders were forever etched in the annals of history as the dreaded "Cosmic Steampunks." Now, as humanity's greatest hour approaches, the fate of our world hangs by a thread, swaying in the celestial winds of an otherworldly tempest. It is a tale of suspense, a symphony of terror, where the clash of civilisations will echo through the fabric of existence. Brace yourself, for the Cosmic Steampunks descend upon Earth, driven by an insatiable hunger and an unquenchable thirst for dominion. The battle for survival has begun, and the outcome shall reverberate through the stars themselves.

While I would certainly have preferred to have this quirky poster framed, for what I could afford, this poster option was great. It looks really good on my wall and I'm sure will draw some interesting comments. I'm very happy with the printing quality and colours.

I was given a small budget to decorate a free clinic. I ordered many of the posters from Zazzle because I could select various sizes that fit frames we could re-purpose. The quality of the printing is fine and there's a wide selection of subjects and styles to choose from. The paper quality on most of the items I ordered was decent. For some reason, though, the Ibis poster on "Perfect Poster (Glossy Finish)" is on very flimsy paper. It'll look fine when framed, but I would upgrade the paper choice if I did this over again. The image quality, colors, and printing quality were fine -exactly what I expected.
