Colourized photo from 1900 Original title: Chatham Square Location: Chatham Square, New York, NY Presently Chatham Square is a part of Chinatown. However back in the 1900s, this is what it looked like. On the left is the Glenmore hotel along with a few others. Rooms cost between 20-25 cents, but they don't mention what you get for the 25cent rooms. It was pretty close by to the trains as you can see. Progress has changed a lot in a hundred years, most of these buildings are gone, only a few remain.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
