Colourized photo from 1890-1900 Original Title: Lexington market, Baltimore, Maryland 1850 Location: 400 W Lexington St, Baltimore, MD This is the Lexington Market, located in Baltimore, MD. It was opened in 1782, where at the time it was just an open field where farmers gathered. About 20 some years later they built that shed you see right now. The Lexington Market sells meats, fruits and pretty much everything you need. You can see Pink Impatient's, piles of oranges (just need to ripen them), banana's were really rare in those days and quite expensive at the time. Even pineapples and grapes, which must have been a luxury considering how they are displayed.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
