Original title: Looking up Woodward Ave
Location: 611 Woodward Ave, Detroit, MI
This is Woodward Ave as seen in 1917, a location that has changed significantly over the years. In fact if people back then time travelled to now, the only thing they would recognise is the Soldiers and Sailors Monument. And even then that was moved from this spot to its current spot, complete with a new fountain.
On the left is the Majestic Building, built in 1896, it was designed to be a department store, but ended up being an office building, it was demolished back in 1962. Some of the other buildings like the Kern's building, and Hudson’s stuck around until the early 1990’s but eventually they were levelled as well.
This street was the first street to be paved in America. Made of concrete, they poured a mile of it back in 1909.
This was a fun time, with plenty of signs and hidden details. For example, can you find the army recruitment tent? How about the cow head sign?

Bought this for my elderly parents that grew up in Detroit. They are very avid puzzle makers and normally they like the challenging ones. This puzzle was awful. It was not interlocking and had very small pieces, that came in a small box with a very small picture. Every time they added a piece, the other pieces shifted. They could not finish it. You would expect MUCH more for a puzzle that cost $85.00 - DO NOT BUY! (had to give it at least 1 star in order to post the review) .

This puzzle is great, the size is good for children aged older than 7 years old, as the pieces are quite small. Good quality print also. The picture turned out exactly like the photo I submitted. Make sure your photo is crisp and clear. Also consider multiple photos in the one puzzle.
