Cinderella Sitting Among the Ashes Fine Art Card

An Edmund Dulac painting illustration for the fairy tale called "Cinderella". In the story, Cinderella had a wicked stepmother and stepsisters. They made her do all the work around the house. In this illustration she sadly sits in the kitchen. "She used to creep away to the chimney corner and seat herself among the cinders". Edmund Dulac was a well known French book illustrator during the early 1900's. He illustrated for fairytale books and literature books. He became a naturalised British citizen in 1912. Later in his life his career expanded into other areas like portraiture, costume and set design, bookplates, chocolate boxes, medals, graphic arts, and even British postage stamps.
