Christmas Tea in the Parlour Holiday Card

This is an acrylic painting of a tea setting. Many years ago I had created the two dresses and decided to use them in this painting. The models are best friends and share a tea every year at Christmas. Many of the props I used for the painting have been favourites for years. Poli, The beautiful Main Coon cat always made herself welcome at every social occasion. I painted her in her favourite position. She often would reach out and pat any one passing her as if to say, "HI, I'm here, don't forget me". I think this is a warm and special old fashioned Christmas scene that illustrates the merriment and social atmosphere of a cosy meeting between friends.

Really a classic job. It will be a perfect Christmas card. It has the coziness of an old Victorian parlor, the warmth of close friendships and a beautiful tea spread.
