Christmas Card

For many years, I have wanted to design a deeply-hued piece swirling with shimmering stars and snowflakes. I had a lot of ideas on how to achieve my vision, but whenever I started, my plans deflated quickly. Then I traded in my canvas and acrylics for watercolor and paper. I ended up even using some blue highlighter for this piece! I was quite sceptical of the progress I was making on this piece... Could I really even call it "progress" at all? I found what I believed to be fatal flaw after fatal flaw... but finished it anyway. I was sort of bored. "I have nothing else to do. I have nowhere else to go." (Arnold Schwarzenegger as John Kimball in 'Kindergarten Cop'... Nevermind.) Surprised myself with this one-- pleasantly, as it were.
