Christchurch Town Hall pipe organ mug

This magnificent Rieger organ in Christchurch was the first continental-built organ in a New Zealand Town Hall. It has been silenced since the devastating earthquakes hit in 2010 and 2011, but we won't forget the stunning façade it presented in the auditorium. This view shows the façade when lit for a concert, the yellow spots highlighting the red of the lower part of the organ. This is a particularly poignant reminder of a beautiful instrument that has been like so many in Christchurch affected by the earthquakes that hit our city.
