This elegant poster shows the paths of each of the 16 different chess pieces, comparing which moves are played more by black or white. Spruce up a chess or data visualisation enthusiast's wall with this intricate piece of data art.
The visualisation draws from over 2 million master's level chess game records, painting one green line for every time one move occurs 500 times (rounding up). On top of that, if a move is played more by white, white lines are drawn, based on the difference; if the move is played more by black, black lines are drawn (one line per 500 occurrences, rounding up).
The data is from MillionBase, a dataset of over 2 million noteable chess game records.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
