The Chaste Tree (vitex agnus-castus) is a member of the verbena family. It is a small tree or shrub, about 15 feet tall at maturity and is magnificently beautiful in full bloom. The blooms can be very eye catching and stunning to look at! Its colourful flowers can last for weeks and attract dozens of bees at a time. Butterflies also seem to favour its flowers. Its flowers are found in a wide variety of colours: lavender, lilac, blue, violet, purples, pinks, and white. In the fall the flowers develop into small reddish black or purplish berries.
