A gothic beauty playing the cello - out in the rolling fields - playing feverishly as a lightning storm approaches..... I adore Rococo furniture and had fun juxtaposing a magnificent sofa in the outdoor setting. The little black cat is my own baby Azrael, who has the habit of appearing in my paintings. I listed to a lot of classic cello music whilst painting this piece, as well as some Rasputina and Matson Jones, hehe. I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
