Celebrating together poster
14th January was an important part of year throughout the history. Malanka yesterday, today Sidereal winter solstice celebrations in Asia, Thorrablot, Old New Year and even the beginning of Summer of Love in 1967. Ritual bathing, caroling, bonfires, feasts, sacrifices. Harvest or sowing, depending on where you are. Somebody also decided that it's Logic Day but I don't see much logic in it with so much other festivities at the same time.
I went to town and had a chat with someone about how it is, even on a rare occasions of some events or celebration here, nobody knows about it. People just watch tv or shop.
I feel it almost doesn't matter what a festival is, if it is big or small, old or new. People change, migrate, nations merge or "divorce". Everything is in flux. But you either look forward, notice, prepare, gather, cook special festive meals, or life blurs into a grey line - instead of a colourful ribbon.
Einstein said: "There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle."
Lets have more miracles. Everyone can be a small miracle worker on a daily basis.
1960s vibes.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning! The print is precise, clear and of an excellent standard. It was cleverly packaged so there wasn’t a blemish or crease. Perfect!
