This design is from my original painting of a Cecropia Moth. I have a real fondness for this strikingly lovely creature. In nature it is impressive for its sheer size - with a wingspan that can exceed six inches, it is the largest native moth in North America. But besides being beautiful in the wild, its warm colouring and fascinating pattern also make for a handsome piece of art!
