Cat Poster
Are Black Cats Unlucky? Scottish folklore held that a black cat foretold of future prosperity while in ancient Egypt and Rome cats were worshipped as mythical beings to be treasured and protected. But with a rise in the belief of witchcraft so began the effort to hunt down the witches who practiced this dark magic. In June of 1233 Pope Gregory IX published legislation to encourage this, his "Vox in Rama" also depicted the cat as being associated with witches. This theology took root and persisted causing a mass hunt for not only witches but also for the cats who were regarded as their consort. The black cat being especially viewed as the witch's familiar. History has indeed not been kind to this feline. Fortunately cats are not as persecuted today as they were then.

Presentation perfect. Would have liked slightly thicker paper as had difficulty keeping flat in a frame.

While I would certainly have preferred to have this quirky poster framed, for what I could afford, this poster option was great. It looks really good on my wall and I'm sure will draw some interesting comments. I'm very happy with the printing quality and colours.
