About This Design

Carnivorous Plant Botanical Art

Carnivorous Plant Botanical Art

This handsome note card features a black and white botanical illustration of the carnivorous plant Venus Flytrap. The text is customisable, you can change it or delete it as you wish. The text on the front reads: “Venus Flytrap Dionaea muscipula.” The text on the inside front describes the plant, and reads: “The Venus Flytrap, scientific name Dionaea muscipula, is the only member of the genus Dionaea in the sundew family, the Droseraceae. It catches and digests its prey, mostly insects and arachnids, in the trapping structure, which is formed by the terminal part of the plants leaves, and is triggered by tiny hairs on their inner surfaces. It is native to coastal North and South Carolina, growing in open bogs. It is also a popular cultivated plant. The delicate black and white vintage botanical art of the Venus Flytrap is by artist Isaac Sprague, from The Genera of the Plants of the United States, published in 1849, author Asa Grey." Makes a great note card for a gardener, landscaper, botanist or anyone who loves plants and nature. Want this or a similar design on another item? Browse my BotanicalArt Shop.

I really like that I can create my own card design using my own photos and words, using the blank template Having a choice of card sizes, and vertical or horizontal aspects plus a choice of gloss or matt finish, and choice of writing size and font style met all my needs, for the personal project I was doing. I also used the back of the card to place my own logo which was great. I was delighted with the cards, the colours were true, and I was really pleased with the sizes and gloss finish.

This card captures Hamburg from a different angle - the river side of the new Elbe Philharmonic. The card is better than expected with good quality and excellent image. Image and Printing are great.
