St. Lucia Day on December 13th is held in Sweden. A young girl is chosen wo be Lucia and is wearing a crown of lights symbolizing the light of the world is Christ and giving to others. She is serving coffee and Swedish Coffee bread to those in a hospital.
St. Lucia was a martyred and made a Saint for feeding the very poor. This is a big observation in Sweden
and for those of Scandinavian descent. Traditional foods are served after the ceremony takes place.
The traditional robe worn stands for righteousness. There are notecards to match this on Etsy.com. The colors and print are very clear and turned out very nice to view. The colors are pleasing to the eye
and go with anything.
