Card: Dog School by Louis Wain Card

This terrific image of dogs reading, writing and attending school is by the well known vintage pets artist, Louis Wain. Known primariiy for his anthropomorphic images of cats, Louis Wain also made a large number of dog images, mainly in his earlier years. He illustrated about one hundred children's books, and his work appeared in papers, journals, magazines. He also created a large number of greeting cards and postcards featuring dogs and cats in human situations. This image is from a 1910 postcard which I've restored to the best of my ability.

A beautiful card. Highest quality materials and print. Misunderstood the explanation of the gold accent. I took it as the design would be metallic in its appearance. Still a lovely card and I am extremely happy with it overall. Perfect, only that I expected the gold to be metallic.
