This is Ruth. She is a secretary and accountant from Duluth, Minnesota, which, during the winter season, is one of the coldest cities in the US of A. She usually only wears black, as she believes this matches the bleak environment of her Duluth surroundings. Maybe around Easter she will bust out the old lime green sash her mother knitted for her to get her to add a splash of colour to her wardrobe, but sometimes she gives it a miss and goes for year-round black. Nobody really likes her, and she sits by Lake Superior until late into the A.M. smoking cigarettes and wishing she had a man. What's Ruth got to say? Caption it.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
