The Tiger Swallowtail completes its life cycle (from egg to adult butterfly) in one month. I am the most familiar butterfly in the eastern United States. I have yellow with black stripes, and I represent intuition, inspiration, vulnerability, inner beauty, and consciousness.  Universally the butterfly is symbolic of metamorphosis, rebirth and renewal, beauty and the transitory nature of beauty itself.
